I saw an incredible Instagram post today from a woman who transformed a whole room into a cat bedroom, filled to the brim with pet furniture. She had cat themed wall paper, multiple seating areas, the cat’s name in neon lights and even a tv for the cat to watch their bird videos on! First, I was jealous – how can someone so much free space that they can dedicate a whole room to their pet?

However, after getting over my initial jealousy, I thought that my cat deserves the same! Perhaps not a room full of pet furniture, although our lucky girl does have her own dedicated bathroom, which we would like to redecorate to make it more ‘cat-themed’. We do have a cat tree but it is so ugly that it put us off purchasing any more pet furniture for her, and we have resorted to hiding the cat tree behind a wardrobe so it’s not visible upon entering the room (although she can still reach it).
Luckily times are changing and you can get some pieces of pet furniture that are truly chic (I swear!). Some items would be tempting to even non-pet owners, that’s how beautiful some of these items are! Read on for some pet furniture & decor inspo, and to see some of the most beautiful pieces I found on the internet!
Pet furniture
1. Cat shelves
This Kyali cat shelf from Made.com (£130) is an absolutely stunning piece of decor regardless of your pet owner status – but it has the added benefit of being a dream location for your cat to hang out too! Cat’s love to perch up high, a remnant habit from their wilder days of chasing prey (and being chased). Adding this shelf high up on a wall will make them feel right at home, looking down on you, whilst the enclosed nature of the shelf will provide an added feeling of comfort and safety for your fur-baby.
The walnut and light grey colour palette will look great in any home, and the style is particularly well suited to mid-century modern, masculine and minimalist decors.

Next up is this gorgeous piece of, what I would call, functional art! This is a tailored piece from Weselldream at Etsy, which you can buy as a single hexagon or add to the collection for a bolder look (and more space for your pet). I love the fact that it functions as a piece of wall art, with a delightful geometric style in ‘burned wood’.
Cat’s are natural climbers so giving them a space to adventure up high not only suits their natural instincts, but also frees up more of the floor space for our hooman activities. Choose between buying one or multiple depending on your space (and budget!).

2. Cat sofa
Yes, not content with spreading themselves over your sofa, our little babies now want another pet furniture addition – their own sofa! Where before they had to settle with fluffy (let’s be honest – cheap looking) pouffes, they can now own their very own chaise lounge for.. lounging! Case in point, look at this beauty being sold on wayfair for £69.99!
It’s a stunning shape and material, in a lovely neutral tones that will blend in well to most styles. Also, as our pets are known to be notoriously messy (and hairy!) the soft part of the chaise is fully machine washable – sparing you any future headaches!

Made.com also have their own, sophisticated version of a cat (and small dog) sofa. This is slightly higher end, both in terms of price and finishing but makes for a truly stunning piece of pet furniture to add to your home. In dark grey, soft material for your cat to cuddle up in, and gorgeous walnut coloured legs, this would go well with more masculine decor styles – and would great in an office so your cat (boss) can supervise your work from a comfortable spot.

3. Cat bed
I would say this is the most controversial piece of pet furniture, having bought a number of (thankfully cheaper) cat beds. My cat does not use them, but my cat is a weirdo. If you know your cat would make use of a cat bed there are some truly pretty pieces you can find online. My favourite kind of cat beds are woollen, luxe and.. pink. However, if pink isn’t your style then a quick google of ‘wool rope cat bed’ should provide you with some other colours.
My current favourite is this Ivory and Pink design from BureBure Pets from Etsy. Created from a decidedly luxe chunky wool knit, this is a great quality, soft piece that your pet will love to curl up in, whilst looking great on the eye!

4. Cat chair
I have been dying to buy an Egg Chair for my own garden for a while now (still haven’t found the perfect style). So imagine my surprise – I was perusing the pet furniture aisle in B&M homes, when I came across a cat egg chair. In the perfect colour! I almost wished there was a human version I could buy as well. The chair is great quality in the most perfect neutral tones, and my cat loves it. I think the rocking motion is quite calming for her, and the egg shape provides added shelter with a feeling of safety.
They also have a standing version which is equally as beautiful, made of rattan in a lovely natural shade – for only £15 in-store!! I have to say, this is my favourite piece of pet furniture in our home so far, aside from our food bowls (which I will show you further down) – a must have for both the home and a little garden hang out spot for your little friend!

5. Cupboard litter tray
Ah, litter trays. Collectively, the most hated of all pet furniture. We have been through so many different types, and have eventually found issues with the vast majority of them. The litter strewn on the floor, the unholy stench, bulkiness, style – the list goes on! I’ve recently seen some of these version where the litter tray is housed in an attractive piece of furniture, like this version from Wayfair. This is particularly good for those who have their litter tray in a shared bathroom, where you and your guests are likely to have to see it.

6. Cat tree
This ‘Kyali’ ‘cat climber‘ (I think this is a fancy word for a cat tree) from Made.com would look stunning in any home – particularly ones with Japandi / Scandi style decor. With smooth, modern lines, an ashwood stain base and grey cushioning, your cat will love their new stylish piece of pet furniture! The internal box is also detachable, so you can create two seating areas if you so wish (although I think they look stunning together). However, beauty of this stature can often be expensive, and this is no exception – it is currently priced at £250.

For a cheaper alternative, this cat tree from Wayfair is only £87.99 and is also a beauty to look at. With two baskets, a scratching post, a play station and multiple levels your cat will have plenty of intrigue to keep them entertained & lots of new areas to nap in! There are also a couple of cool features to help reduce damage – the scratching post should distract your cat from attacking your sofa arms (a battle I know too well), and the bottom is slip proof, meaning the tree won’t fall over in the midst of your cats zoomies!

7. Cat teepee
Next up we have another creative design from Made.com, that your pet will love. This piece of pet furniture can be placed in an empty corner of any style of room, and will make an incredible impact. Your pet will be sure to appreciate it as well, the covering on all sides will create a sense of cosiness and safety when they want to enjoy some me-time. The teepee’s from made come in a range of colours, but this one is my favourite in a sophisticated walnut and navy, well suited to modern, minimalist and masculine decor.

8. Cat bowl
Last of all in this pet furniture series, we have these truly stunning lifted ceramic bowls from Amazon. They come in a range of colours, with my two favourites below – both of which will be a gorgeous addition to a muted, neutral colour scheme. They are made from hard waring materials and the fact that they are on a stand means less likelihood of accidents, spillages and a kitchen floor with cat food and water all over the place! At £17.99 they’re very affordable – only be warned, ceramic is a delicate material so ensure you handle with care when washing the bowls (although a dishwasher is more than fine to use).
